How do I move a Weblog from one site to its own MSM site?

I’ve been asked to take one of the weblogs from Site 3 of an MSM install and make it its own site (Site 4). Since we’re already using all 3 “sites” in a non-commercial (non-profit) MSM setup we’d also need an additional MSM site license too.

I could use some advice on what the best way to go about this would be. Maybe starting with replacing the site ID in the database?

    FYI—
They’re sticking with EE1.7 for the time being but I do intend to upgrade them to 2+ later in the year.

    Thanks.

    Hi Kyle,

What you need to do is update your MSM files after you have purchased the additional site license. Once you’ve done that you’ll create a new site and during the site creation option you’ll have the option to copy or move different weblogs, fields and other settings. Choose the ones you need for that weblog and you’ll be good to go.

Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help you out.

Really? That’s nothing short of awesome. I’ve only used it with new sites and importing non-EE sites.

    Thanks Sean!

    Kyle,

Glad I could help out. Anything else I can do?
