    Hi,

I need to create a new section on an EE 1.6.8 site. The section should display those articles with a particular tag and have a new URL e.g http://www.mysite.com/name-of-the-tag.

I’m not sure how to approach this - do I need to create a new template group with the name of the tag in order to have EE be aware of the new URL? I would appreciate some advice on how to create a new URL and custom template to display my tagged content.

I am familiar with PHP but not EE.

    Helo studio-d,

Thank you for using the ExpressionEngine forums!

From what I understand you want to have a page display all articles within a certain category. You would like to be able to have that fit the structure of http://www.somesite.com/categoryname.

The only way I can think of to accomplish this is to operate on segments. You will need to do all of this through your default template group|template.

You will also need to use the seg2cat add on.

If you are not familiar with segments, once you read up on segments, seg2cat will make more sense.

I hope this helps, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

    Thank you,
