    Hello,

I was wondering if anyone else was having this issue in version 2.4. If I go to a template with member group restrictions on it (for example, guests should be redirected to a login page), I just get a blank page instead of the redirect working correctly. I already followed all the steps on this page: http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/troubleshooting/general/blank_pages.html but still am not seeing any errors or clues as to what is going on. My error logs just say “File does not exist” but as soon as I am logged in as a non-redirected member group, the template shows up fine.

Haven’t changed anything aside from doing the upgrade. Everything was working fine previously. Any ideas?

    Hi gaarmaster,

I have replicated this problem on my sandbox install and I’ve filed a bug report for you on this issue. I encourage you to comment on that thread in order to keep informed of the status of the fix.

I’m also heaving problems with the template restrictions/redirects. I’m building a intranet site where visitors get a login page if they are not logged in. Before the update everything was ok. After i’m did a update to EE 2.4, EE showed a other template instead of the login template.

After some research my conclusion is:
The restrictions are working properly i can change en rechange them an these actions are having good results on the frontend. It’s the redirect which is broken. When i view the settings in the template manager of ‘root/index’ it shows ‘root/login’ as redirect template, which is how i set it up. But on the frontend it’s not working that way. I looks like EE took the first template in ‘root/’ which it can find. In my case ‘root/aanmelden’ (aanmelden means register in dutch). Even when i changed the name of ‘root/aanmelden’ the renamed page showed up as the redirect page. The redirect option is glued to this template whatever i do.

So… for the being i pasted the code of my login page to this glued page… It’s a workaround!
