I’m having javascript errors on one of our EE sites running 2.3.1. It’s interfering with the ability to navigate tabs in the publish screen other show/hide toolbar for customizing.

    In Safari it’s showing:

TypeError: 'undefined' is not an object (evaluating 'EE.cp.show_hide_sidebar') admin.php:12
TypeError: 'undefined' is not a function (evaluating 'EE.namespace("EE.publish")') admin.php:41

I’ve replaced the themes folder, cleared my cache, reset publish layout and updated all add ons but still get the error. Any help would be most appreciated.

    Hi DavidG,

I’m sorry that you are experiencing this problem. Are you experiencing the javascript errors in other browsers such as Chrome or FireFox? I know that you said you have uploaded the themes folder again, but I would like you to upload it once again from a fresh download as searching the forums found only one other thread with this issue and the solution was to re-upload the themes folder.

Please try that again and then get back to me with the result.

I’m having the same issue after upgrading to 2.5.2

    Publish/Edit tabs don’t work and I cannot open/close visible/hidden custom fields.

I’ve tried uploading a fresh version of the 2.5.2 theme files, and also double-checked the themes/javascript directory, re-uploading that again as well.

    I’ve cleared my browser’s cache.

Still have this issue. Can anyone help? It’s urgent as I currently can’t edit or publish anything.

    Thanks.

    Hey aleklisefski,

That is really odd. Themes re-upload usually takes care of such things.

Have you tried clearing the EE cache?

    Cheers,

    Got it fixed: http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/221744/

Some of the EE core files must have failed to upload when I upgraded. I had to re-upload all EE files and then update a few plugins. Theme files had nothing to do with it in this case.
