    Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas how to implement tailored member account activation emails into an EE2 site? The standard templates for the emails are fine, but my client would like to be able to send specific details to new users explaining either why their membership application was accepted or rejected. Can anyone think of an easy way to do this through EE?

    Thanks!

    Hey slacktop,

I know that the User Module allows for custom email registration templates to be used. The User module allows for a custom “Welcome email template”, “admin notify template”, and “forgot password email template”. Hopefully something like that will accomplish what you’re trying to do.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Thanks.

Sorry, slacktop, I suggested that in light that editing the built in email registration message wasn’t enough, and you needed more flexibility of the member module.

If you go to “Design -> Message Pages -> Email Notifications”, there is a template for “Member Account Activation Instructions”.

Would editing this template to fit your needs be enough, or are you looking for more customization?

    Thanks.

Hey Kyle, thanks for the reply.

What I really need is an easy way for my client to edit the emails on a case by case basis, similar to writing a channel entry if possible. New members have to submit various details about themselves and upload a resume upon registration (I still need to figure out how to do that bit too!) and then their application will be accepted or rejected based on membership criteria. My client would like to be able to explain to the applicants why their application failed or was successful.

If this is all way beyond the scope of any existing plugins I’m guessing a workaround would be possible in just allowing my client to email each applicant separately from the member list.

    Hey slacktop,

I am not aware of any add-ons that allow fine tuned control of those emails on a case by case basis.

I’d recommend just sending a separate email, as I can’t think of any better way to do it.

Thanks. Let me know if you have any more questions.
