After moving my site from a local MAMP server to a production server I now see a white screen on the CP and front-end.

I’ve successfully done this plenty of times with other sites but something has not worked out this time. I’ve removed the .htaccess file, set all paths, set file permissions and removed all plugins. Still no joy!

I know the server is fine as I can install an out-of-the-box version of EE.

If I set my index.php file to “$debug = 1;” I get the following error log:

[14-Jan-2012 11:09:15] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined method CI_Input::filter_get_data() in /home/xxxxxx/public_html/xxxxxx/expressionengine/libraries/Core.php on line 257

xxxxxx’s have been used in place of actual server path.

Does this error make sense to anyone?

    EE v2.3.1
    PHP version 5.2.14

    Hi benwellby,

I would try uploading your files again as something may have been corrupted along the way
Let us know if that works for you

I also have the same problem.

After building the website on a development server, I have backed up everything and uploaded onto the live server. Only to find the white/blank screen on the front-end and the back-end. I have tried removing, reuploading everything several times.

The only difference I can tell between the servers are:

    PHP Version - Development = 5.2.17, Live = 5.3.6
    MySQL Version - Development = 5.0.92, Live = 5.1.59

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    EE = v2.3.1

I have solved my problem after turning the $debug on - the error reported a problem with the password for the SQL database - so have reset it and applied the new one

    All sorted now.

Okay, I have now fixed the issue. For some reason when using Transmit to FTP my files to the server the default permissions setting is 644. So I used Cyberduck and the permissions default is 755. I then adjusted the settings as outlined in the EE install guide:

    http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/installation/installation.html

It must be some sort of server conflict/default setting because I have used Transmit many times.

You can mark this one as “resolved”, but I’d be curious to know if this is an isolated incident or has anyone experienced this before?

    Thanks for your time, John.

    Hi,

Glad you got this resolved on your own. Am going to close this thread at your request.
