Hi,
So I’ve gotten a few complaints from users that they lost everything when they submitted their entry (via SAEF), got an error message, and hit the back button or link on the error message only to find that their form data disappeared. I was able to replicate this in both Firefox and IE on PC, while it works fine in Chrome.
Searched for discussion on this issue and apparently Firefox and IE are not really preserving form data anymore? Unless I’m missing something and there’s settings that we could tell our users to tweak on their browsers?
I’m thinking I better implement some other form of validation other than “submit.” Forms is my weakest area, so I’m not sure what direction I should head in - give me a few keywords and I’ll find the solution, sample code, and implement it. I just have no clue what kind of solution would work - I saw a post referencing jquery validation, is that what I should be looking at?
I tried searching here on forums, point me to another thread if this has already been discussed, I missed it. 😊
Any help with this would be appreciated, thanks! The website is http://www.eventida.com, and there is a summary field where we restrict the number of words they can put on their summary, I know that some people work really hard on their summary description to pack in the information and make their event appealing next to all the other events. I feel bad for those who would hit that submit button and go arrrggghhh! at losing that awesome summary description they just crafted.
Thanks again,
Elise
