This is simple one. If I set the member group preference “Can view channel entries authored by others” to Yes and the “Can edit entries authored by others” to No and try to go into an entry I get an unauthorized error.
The “Can view channel entries authored by others” just applies to the edit list view and not viewing single entries? I would like to make them read only and not editable. Is this not possible?

Do you mean like if I go into an individual entry that the fields are disabled for me or the submit button removed? If so then this needs to be a feature request I’m afraid.
The alternative is to build something in SafeCracker to handle your client publish and editing.
