I’m trying to make EE contact ping services ONCE a day.

There’s the part where you enter a “global” list of services. That’s fine. Did that.

There’s the part where each user can set their individual ping services. Fine, too. Don’t need that.

There’s the publish form where there should be a “Ping” tab, right (according to the official EE User Guide: http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/cp/content/publish.html ). Not fine! It’s missing. :-(

There’s the part in the “Edit Entry” Section in the CP, specifically in the “Options” tab under the “Pings” where it says “No ping servers currently exist.”. Not fine either - I already added a couple of ‘em! :-(

There’s the question “Where do I set the PING FREQUENCY?” And how do I know the the ping went out?

re: Where do I set the PING FREQUENCY? - pings are sent out when you submit your entry, not on a regular interval.

Hi Sean, thanks for your help! Didn’t suspect it to be bugs, just thought I was somehow too moronic again 😉. Being able to set the Ping frequency would actually be a great improvement I guess. Or at least setting it to once/day by default. It’s recommended to ping the servers not more than once a day as far as I know.

You might consider adding “setting the ping frequency” to a feature request.

I’m going to close out this thread now, feel free to post again when you need to.
