In a Safecracker form, am I able to restrict a category dropdown menu to show only categories from a specific category group? 

This thread suggests that I can using group_id, but I can’t get that to work.  Nor does show_group work for me.

Is this possible?

I’m sorry about that misleading post on our forums. SafeCracker doesn’t actually support parameters in the categories variable pair, so as of right now, it’s an all-or-nothing proposition. I would definitely recommend posting a Feature Request for this sort of thing if you’d like it to be added to the core.
