    Hi:
I’m currently running EE 1.x on two of my sites, and in general don’t have any complaints. It seems to meet my needs in most respects with the exception of the forum plugin, which due to persistent spamming and the lack of versatile tools in dealing with them, had to be disabled. With that said, just wondering, for people who have upgraded from EE 1 to 2, can you share some of the most important improvements in EE 2.x you’ve found that made it a worthy upgrade from EE1?

    Thanks,

    Here’s my list:

    The custom file fieldtype
    - makes uploading and using files a breeze, no longer need to rely on 3rd party addons

    Snippets
    - superb addition to the templating system

A plethora of new addons for EE
    - I’m thinking newer addons such as Low variables, and the EE2 versions of Matrix/Playa, they do a ton of stuff that you can’t do in EE1

Also there are numerous “smaller” bits and pieces that have changed that make life just that bit easier, too many to list here 😊
