Searched everywhere for this, but I can’t find where or if I can change the timeout value for the User CP.  We do not have security needs to time out on a super admin so often, and having to login again and again is annoying.

Where can I change the timeout value, or even disable this?

    Hi neuralynx,

Do you mean that you’d like to change the timeout that occurs if you leave the CP open on your browser? Or you’d like to make sure your CP users don’t have to login again if they close the CP and then come back to the computer hours later? I’ll try to answer both just to be sure.

The timeout value, the amount of time that the CP can be on a browser screen before it counts down and logs itself out, can be changed by adding the cp_session_ttl value to your config.php file. It’s set to 3600 (the number of seconds in an hour) by default.

If your Control Panel Session Type is set to Cookies Only, the CP login screen will present an option to auto-login users on future visits.

Does that help answer your question?

I should note that the instructions I gave above assume you’re running on the current version of ExpressionEngine, of course.

Yep, that is what I was looking for.  Thanks.

Great! Glad I could help. Let me know if there’s anything else I can do for you.
