Apparently in need of more support than normal this week.

I have a few users who fairly reliably at the moment are hitting the save button in the publish form and then getting their entry reposted 2-4 times instead of just once.

They assure me they aren’t clicking the save button more than once and that they aren’t hitting the back button and submitting again or anything like that.

I tried doing some searches but didn’t see this behavior mentioned recently.  I am using the latest version of EE 1.7.1.

Are there any known reasons why this might happen?

Still having this occur.  Any ideas of where to start investigating would be a big help.

    Hi Jamie,

Sorry to hear you’re having this happen to your site. This certainly isn’t a known issue, so it makes me suspect a module or extension. Could you list the modules you have installed and the extensions you have enabled?

What browsers are these users using? Is it happening to more than one user or only one account? Only one weblog or more than one weblog?

We definitely want to help you get this knocked out. What troubleshooting steps have you tried?

So many in there I can’t even begin off the top of my head.  I’ll start by trying to eliminate extensions.

Went through all of the extensions and all that did was serve to prove that it was on the actual insertion/update of the data that something was going wrong not in any of the extensions.

So with that knowledge I started examining the related tables to see if anything obvious was wrong and my exp_weblog_titles table had gotten corrupted somehow there was a mismatch of records between it and the weblog_data table I cleaned things up removed duplicates, ran optimize and repair and things “seem” better at least now that it’s the middle of the night and there’s no traffic to speak of.  😊  I’ll update the thread if this is still occurring tomorrow.

    Hey Jamie,

Just wanted to check in to see if everything is still swimming along. Since you hadn’t posted back in a few days, I suspect your fix may have done the trick.
