Under 1.6.8, I would create EE tags to connect to specific entries in this form:

    “{path=templategroup/templatename}entrynumber”

It used to be rendered as:

    “...templategroup/templatename/entrynumber”

After doing the upgrade, the URLs are being rendered as:

    “...templategroup/templatenameentrynumber”

Is there a way to force the URL to be rendered with the required “/” between the template name and entry number? I don’t want to have to go back and try to update content.

Also, I made the mistake of updating the discussion forum software prior to completing the 2.3.1 upgrade. I did not actually try to start the forum, just copied the files.

After the 2.3.1 conversion was completed, I started the forum, and was able to get to the forum CP, but when I tried to visit a forum, I got an error indicating the forum theme was not found.

I copied my 1.6.8 /themes/forum_themes folder to the 2.3.1 /themes folder, and the message disappeared, only to be replaced with the following message

“Unable to locate the following forum theme file: default/forum_index/forum_homepage.html”

I’m assuming that this indicates that the theme folder needed to be migrated, but because it was not present when I opened the Discussion Forums, it was not updated. How can I fix this?

TIA for any help…Now I just need to figure out what I should do for a replacement photo gallery.

Ignore the discussion forum problem. I was not aware that the themes folder structure had changed completely with version 3 of the Discussion Forums. Based on the number of changes, I will probably just re-create the changes I made earlier, which were primarily style changes.

Still would like some feedback on the tag rendering, though.

    Hi Drydocked,

Make sure to run the Module Updates button under Addon -> Modules so the forum is updated.

The forward slash was removed form URLs in EE2.x so you will just need to manually those back into your templates. Sorry for inconvenience

Thanks, is there any danger from rerunning the Module Updates if it ran before? Other than my theme migration issue, everything seems to working on the forums….would hate to rock the boat.

I suspect the module is already updated in the db- and if so, it will know not to run it again.  In other words- you should be fine.  But to be on the safe side- I’d go ahead and make a database copy just in case.
