MSM install troubles

    Hi guys.

I’ve just tried installing MSM and am having troubles getting it up and running.

When I first installed and activated it and tried to add a new site (Site Name > Edit Sites) it brought up an error message that says “The page you requested was not found.”

After poking around the forum for a bit I realized I needed to uncomment and update the MSM related config variables in the index.php and admin.php file (p.s. +1 to improving the documentation on that detail). Unfortunately after I did this and logged out of the site, it now won’t allow me to log back in.

    Basic details:
    – I’m running EE 2.3.0
    – The latest version of MSM (downloaded today)
    – I’ve installed and activated MSM, but haven’t yet added a second site

Any insights you can provide would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Brett

    Hi Brett,

Can I get you to update to EE2.3.1 please and when doing so be sure to replace the index.php and admin.php in your root.

We can then troubleshoot from the same page.

Is this the page of docs you are referencing for adding a domain, sub-domain or folder?

What specifically did you change in the index and admin files?
How are your sites being set-up? Are they folders or domains?

Updating to 2.3.1 did the trick! MSM seems to be working properly now.

    Thanks so much.
