    Hello EE Staff,

i’m a PHP developer for 5, and a CI developer for almost 4 years now. I want to build a website where users can post content.
Let’s think of it as it was a travel website.

User should be able to do following:
    - Register
    - Update their info (nickname, age, avatar & etc.)
    - Can send/receive messages

    - Post entry’s about vacations (text + photos)

The website will also feature a paid membership option (I’m considering membr plugin).

Is this, especially the user generated content part, doable with EE?
If yes, must the users to that over the admin backend?
Is this, so called safe-cracker, a backend replacement so we can design the fields where they
    upload their stuff?

    Please help me, thank you!

    Yes, EE can do that.

Yes, Safecracker is a way to build Stand Alone Entry Forms that allow users to post content into EE without accessing the control panel.

Or, you could lock down the Control Panel to just what they need to access and let them post content there as well.

You can also handle the paid membership function with the Simple Commerce Module.
