    We’re on EE v2.1.3.

As a supadmin user, I upload a member photo to one of our members, user id 10. That photo disappeared for an unknown reason, however the photo still exists on the filesystem.

I then uploaded a photo for user id 6, and the photo for user id 10 was removed from the filesystem.

I cannot get a photo to upload for user 10, regardless if I delete its photo if one is suppoed to exist.

Are there known user photo bugs, and if so have they been addressed in more recent versions of EE?

    Hi onewed,

I don’t know of any reasons why this might be happening and I’ve never come across that before so if I could ask you to update to the latest 2.3.1 version of ExpressionEngine just so that we’re all on the same code-base for testing then that would be great, thanks.

I’ll upgrade soon, however the upgrade process had me reinstalling EE entirely and dropped my channels & content.

    Hi onewed,

The upgrade process definitely shouldn’t drop any of your channels or content if you follow these instructions here.

Is that what you’ve been doing or something else?

I’d definitely advise an update though if you can just to ensure you are on the latest version of ExpressionEngine though. Just be sure to make very good backups of all your files and your database first though in case anything does happen to go wrong.

Also if anything does go wrong and you get any error messages then please do write them all down and let us know what they are as they may help us to see what is going on there whilst you are updating.

    Thanks,

    Mark
