Is there a photo gallery solution to 2.0 yet? I saw that it was left out because it was redundant. That’s fine but can someone shed some light on how you would implement? Thanks!

No, there isn’t a port of the EE1.x gallery yet. We’re still working on that.
As far as implementing a gallery, there are several ways you could approach it. Since this is more of a How Do I kind of question, moving to the Community Help forum for additional community support.
Personally, I just use a channel to store my images. But others in the community have done other things. 😊

I’d look at either:
- Matrix / file field / a template-level image resizer (look for CE Image) approach. This makes for a one channel entry per category gallery.
- DevDemons channel images addon. I haven’t used this one yet so can’t comment on it directly.
Note that the current EE file manager implementation has some good groundwork made to power photo galleries (specifying resized versions, meta info in the database, etc) but (IMHO) still needs tags added to the channel:entries tagset to pull the resized images.

Thanks for the solutions guys. I dont want to spend more money plugins so I will probably go the Channel route.
