    Hello,

    I am having trouble setting my site from development to a production server using EE2.

    Everything works perfectly on the development side.

    I have created a new database, linked it in the config > database.php as well as updating config.php

    and also all the files reside on the server with the correct permissions.

    When I try to access the EE control panel I am presented with a download dialogue box with a blank file name and “application/x-httpd-php” as the file type.

    Does anyone know why this is happening?

    Many Thanks,

    Andy

    Ok, well I have worked out why it didn’t work, I was using localhost as the hostname rather than numbers 123.123.12.123.123

    So that worked, but I have 3 errors that appear at the top of the CP eg;

    A PHP Error was encountered
    Severity: Warning
    Message: mkdir(): Permission denied
    Filename: helpers/version_helper.php
    Line Number: 157

    Any thoughts?

    Hi, Andy. Is this on a professionally managed server? That error means that for some reason you don’t have permission to create directories on the fly. Does your database user have all privileges?

    Hi Sue, I have managed to get the site running, and that error message doesn’t appear anymore. I think there may have been something to do with the permissions I had set. Basically I re-uploaded the whole site and set the permissions again. Thank you for your help.
