    Hi ee ppls,

I’m working with the band demo site at my domain to learn ee, and used to see the home page every time I parsed the URL http://www.domain.com or www.domain.com/index.php page,  however, now when I browse http://www.domain.com or www.domain.com/index.php, I only get a blank page seen here.

I must have changed a setting in CP since I haven’t changed any template code yet.  Perhaps a global template preference I can’t seem to find anymore!  🙄

From my ‘lil knowledge of ee this means something wrong with PHP or an ee embed, but again I have not changed code on the index.php template.  I can view other template at the same domain, like this one and and the contact page, but not the home page.

    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Hey digigumball,

The page you referenced as “getting a blank page” opens up for me. Not all the images are loaded, but the site pulls up.

Also, the pages you said you could view, aren’t showing up for me. Do you have any updates of your progress since some things seem to be working now?

I noticed that if you add a “?” after index.php, so http://domain.com/index.php?/page-here, the pages will load.

Can you tell me what host you are on?

    Thanks!

    Hi Kyle,

SInce I originally posted, I went to Edit template group and checked the box “Make the index template in this group your site’s home page?” so that the index.php page wouldn’t be blank.  I’m not sure if this is just considered a work around, or that this is what I would have to do for every index.php page, but clarification would be very helpful here.

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi digigumball,

That is correct. You need to specify a template group’s index template to serve as the “home page”, otherwise no page will display when you go to http://domain.com.

You only select one template to be the “site’s home page”.

    Does that clear things up?

    Thanks.
