Hi there. In General Configuration, there is the following variable setting:

URL to the root directory of your site

Where is this stored exactly? Running a search and replace on the database does not update this field and neither does changing the $config[‘base_url’] in config.php

    Many thanks in advance,

    Simon

    Hi Simon,

I would really advise against working directly against the database. That’s not something we’re going to be able to help you with.

Regarding the config.php override, you’re going to want to use

    $config['site_url']

instead. This setting will override anything in the database.

Does that help get you set up?

    Thanks Kevin,

Mmmm. I’m not sure that answers my question.

I am trying to understand where the “URL to the root directory of your site” variable in General Configuration is stored.

    Thanks,

    L

    Loquela,

I believe you will find it in the exp_sites table. But it is in an encrypted format along with other site preferences hence your search and replace not working. It is recommended to do this in your config.php file.

    Does that help?
