We’re using the standard tell a friend module for a section of our site.

    http://www.cadburykitchen.com.au/recipes/view/milk-chocolate-chip-cookies/1/

It’s all working fine, but as we’re sending the email from “our” address, the message doesn’t actually anywhere say who it’s from (apart from the reply-to field, but no-one ever really sees that).

Is it possible to put custom code in the message so at least the email starts something like:

{name} has sent you this recommendation with the following message…

    Regards,

    Christiaan

    Hi Christiaan,

If you goto Admin -> Email Configuration do you have a value set for Webmaster or site name for auto-generated emails?

If not then try setting that and see if it adds it to your emails

Salivating now after browsing your site 😊

    Thanks John,

Yes, we do have the email and site name in there, the email is sent fine (and comes from us).

The issue is that no where in the actual email being sent does it say who has sent the email to the ‘friend’.

Yes, a tough site to work on with all that food…!

Hmmm… what I would try would be to use Solspace’s Freeform for the send to friend, and use the values put into the form as a part of the response.

    Does that help?
