I’m trying to find out how I can upload to a folder specific to the entry.
So for example, the files for:

    url/newsitem/349
will upload to the assets/files/349 folder

What would be the way to achieve that?
I know there is a plugin like this http://devot-ee.com/add-ons/subdir-upload, but you have to fill this in yourself.
I would want it to derive automatic from the entry id or title.

    Alright.
    It issss possible.

Just make your own upload field type and give up on the file manager.
Still a lot of work but gets the job done.
