    Hi,

I’m trying to upgrade 2.2.1 to 2.2.2 on a local install running WAMP server 2.1 and MySQL version 5.5.9.

I have run the install process as per the instructions and I get the update successful message, the config file now states the version is 222 and the site runs fine, but as with these threads:
    http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/192764/

    http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/192644/

I am unable to log in to the CP due to missing columns and data types that are too short. For obvious reasons I don’t really want to go upgrading live sites while I cant even update my clean default EE Install!

It seems to have run the update without applying any of the database changes. Is there something I need to turn on/off on MySQL prior to running the update so the scripts will work?

    Thanks.

Got it sorted. I changed my config file to think it was version 211 and then the upgrade worked.

    fcb66,

I’m glad to see you were able to get it all sorted out. Were you running 2.1.1 before you started the upgrade process? You mention 2.2.1 above, just curious.

    Cheers,

    Hi Dan,

According to the config file in the backup it was from v2.2.1, but the more I’ve thought about it after getting it working something must have been amiss. The config file must have been overwritten with one from a different install is the only thing I can think of.

An embarrassing blunder, and I’m glad I managed to resolve it on my time before I wasted anyone else’s!

    Thanks.
