Publish layout problem on one channel

    Hi

On a live site, I have one channel (out of 11) where the publish layout has defaulted to title and url_title only, not showing any custom fields. I cannot add any fields to the layout - they are correctly assigned and are displayed in the toolbar menu, but when I drag them they just bounce back to the menu.

All other channel publish/edit layouts are fine and behaving normally - just this one is defying all efforts to display fields. I am not sure how long this has been like this, as I have not needed to edit entries on this channel for a while.

I have Zenbu installed and I note that the custom fields are displaying correctly for their search layouts on this channel. Could the layout issue be related to Zenbu or is this likely to be an EE issue? I am on 2.1.3.

I would be grateful for some advice, as I need to edit some entries in this channel and can’t see yet how to crack this.

    Many thanks.

    Hey silverdart,

If you are sure that the custom field group is correctly assigned to the channel, let’s see if we can’t get to the bottom of this.

Can you try resetting the publish layout for me?

You can do this by going to “Show Toolbar” in the upper right of the publish layout, and then towards the bottom of the sidebar selecting the member group, and pressing “Reset Layout”.

Just in case the publish layout got corrupted, this will reset it.

    Thanks!

    Hi Kyle

Hey - that has worked a treat!  Thank you so much. I swear I had tried that before a couple of times and it had not worked, but it certainly did this time. Maybe I was not selecting a member group before, thinking that Super Admin did not need that. Anyway, now my custom fields are displaying correctly again.

Very grateful for your helpful advice - and sorry to take your time on such a simple issue.
