    Hi

I have an site build in which a number of pages are set for dynamic page caching (template caching). Now, I need to do some updates to those pages, and am finding myself having to empty the cache quite a bit to see my changes.

Is there a quick, global way of disabling page caching without having to go through all the template manager settings and disable/enable on a page by page basis?

I just need a global override until my bit of dev if finished…

    Thanks

    Hi Lee Powell,
You can globally turn off caching by doing a query to change the value of cache from y to n.

First of all double check that you’re picking the right ones

    select * from exp_templates where cache = 'y'

Then if those are the right templates then update the value of cache from y to n.

    update exp_templates set cache = 'n' where cache = 'y'

Chances are you also set the value of refresh to something other than 0, so you can put back caching again when you’re ready to launch.

    Does that help?

Hi Sue - Thanks, that was going to be my fallback, just didn’t know if there was a hidden override that disabled page caching site wide without having to modify the database entries.

In fact I was poking through the render class last night and saw there was no such way. Shame, it would be a nice ‘to have’.

    Thanks. Lee.
