Embedding a template main MSM site on another MSM site - snippets and global vars don't work

    Hi there.  We’ve been pulling a header template onto an MSM site which is installed in a subdirectory (/jobs) of the main site.

    {embed="mainsite-code:includes/header"}

    I’ve been cleaning up the templates and noticed that there were duplicates of a few variables and snippets, on the MSM site itself, which obviously weren’t required as they were all being called right from the header template on the main site - like {ad-leaderboard} and {google-ad-tags}.  I deleted these from the MSM site, and for some strange reason, when the header template is called from the main site, the MSM site displays these 2 global vars as plain text.  They still work perfectly on the main site though.

    I fixed a snippet by making it available globally (which shouldn’t have had any impact, surely?), but having no such luck with the global vars.  Has this come up at any point in the past?  We’re on the latest 2.2.2 build.

    Hi Jon @ Fireball,

    Global Variables are on a per site basis. You have the choice when creating anew site to duplicate or move them to new site. It would be a feature request on your part to have cross site functionality.

    Thanks John - a shame it wasn’t just me missing something obvious!  Feature request posted, so feel free to close out.
