    Hello,

I need to allow users to create a bullet point list, but without html knowledge.
Currently the default formatting buttons only give options for a few styling enhancements.

I find the plugins like TinyMCE (although they are great) give too many unnecessary options for the user. Is there a way to add an unordered list button without using an external plugin, via a setting in the superadmin panel?

    Thanks,
    Andy

P&T List (http://pixelandtonic.com/divebar) is perfect for this, and its free. Just download, add as a custom field, and template it accordingly.

Thanks for the quick reply, that fieldtype is pretty cool and I can see myself using at some point. But is there a way to have the bullet points included in the textarea fieldtype?

Yes you can add html formatting buttons without using any addons (note that you have to turn these on in the fieldtype settings, and then add each button manually). These are hopeless for clients though, since they’ve got to click a button to add ul tags, and then click another button for each opening & closing li tag. Don’t know why ellislab even bothered with this. I’d definitely use the p&t fieldtype. Or wygwam.

Fair enough, seems like more hassle than its worth. Think I will just go for wygwam a @ $35 😊
