Hello EE experts,

I am having difficulties starting of with this task:

Ive set up this channel called AWARDS where authenticated users submit nominations (from the front-end using SafeCracker) in 3 categories:
- best X
- best Y
- best Z

What I need to do next is setup a voting system where logged in users will be able to vote on one entry from each category as their favorite. There is no grading involved, just pick your favorite from each category.

I can setup a new channel and custom fields with the nominations but how would I setup the voting system so a logged in user can vote only once?

I am thinking of creating a one page form for all categories.
Then add a radio group to each category so a user can only select one entry.

Then maybe store the username of the user and use conditionals to check if the user voted or not?

Have you seen Solspace’s Rating? It does everything you are looking for, including vote limiting.
