    Hi

Occasionally the need to track page views for logged in members has left me shocked that there isn’t already an EE addon for this. So, I have been developing ‘Member Track’ for EE 1.7.X - a module that will track which members have looked at your single entry pages and display that data neatly in the Modules area of the CP. The module allows you to choose which member group you wish to track and choose up to two custom member fields to display in the modules stats.

This has been useful for me, but what I want to know is would this be of use to anybody else and therefore worth me developing further and porting to EE2. And, I’d be very grateful of any feedback from the lovely peeps of the EE community.

Download the module here and let me know what you think - be gentle though it’s my first module.

    Cheers
    Damien

    Welcome to our community, Damien.

I have moved this up to Community Support and removed the attachment as per our Community News Guidelines; you’ll want to get this hosted in another location and link to that.

    Thank you!

It seems like a great idea and I have use for it on a particular site, would love to see it in EE2.

Now that I know it will be of use in the community I will begin porting it to EE2.

Anybody played with it in EE1 yet? Are there any additional features you’d like to see?

Unfortunately I don’t have any EE1 site to try this on, sorry I’d gladly do it.

However I do have an idea for a feature that could be cool and useful to other members.

You are registering which members see which entries, it seems to me that from here it’s possible to have lists of the type “people who saw this entry also saw…”, which would be really nice to display in the templates. Just a thought. 😊

I’ve been looking for something like this!!  I’m using EE1.7.1 and have installed the module with no errors.  I’ve got my settings setup inside the module.  I’ve added track=“yes” parameter to the weblog

    {exp:weblog:entries weblog="news" orderby="date" sort="desc" limit="2" paginate="bottom" track="yes"}

but it doesn’t seem to be recording any information.  Somehow I feel like I’m just missing a step or not doing something right.

I’m tracking the member group “members” then I go and sign in as a member and hit the page with the weblog but it doesn’t record anything.  Any ideas?  Outstanding work and I’m very happy you have provided this to the community!

Its looks like you are trying to use member track on weblog tags that are not for a single entry page - member track only works for single entries.

Thank you for writing me back so fast! I knew it was something simple.  I was wondering—is there any way this this script could be modified to track members on any page?  I have a some clients that would pay for this sort of custom development.  Let me know if you would be interested and I can let you know kinda what they want.  Thank you for your time this morning and then you for writing this great module!

Hey folks, as per the add-on guidelines I’m going to need to ask you to take the support off-site. =)  Thank you!

Just wondering if there has been any further development for the ee 2 version. This seems to be what i’ve been looking for to move a website from moodle to ee. thanks for your work on this addon.
