On the freelancers licence for EE2 the admin has the ability to add and control members group, even though this licence doesn’t come with a members module.

I tried to create a new member group, editor with limited access, so that I could get someone to proof read my blog articles before publishing them but when we try to log in on their account I get an error message saying:

    An Error Was Encountered
You are not authorized to access this page

However… if I have another browser open in the admin it opens and admin panel with that new members group privileges. It won’t then let me log back in?

    I am using Freelancer v2.2.1

    Hi, opel.

There are no front end member preferences available, just the ability to login to the back end. You may not have set up that particular member correctly. Did you give them access to the control panel, for instance?

Under the members preferences I have allowed access to the control panel.

I am using structure and Wygwam and I allowed access to these as well. Anything else I could be missing?

    Hi opel,

First I’d recommend completely clearing your browser cache and cookies. Then, try duplicating a member group based off of the SuperAdmin group, and make sure a member assigned to that new group works as expected. Then you can work backwards and disable the areas you don’t want them accessing, testing periodically to make sure they can access the correct areas.
