Is there a way to put the post author’s screen name into the notification email?

Ideally, my client would like to have the screen name, email address, and two other custom fields for company and phone number displayed in the notification email so that members can just call or email the person without having to go to the forum page.

    Hi, Ramseymedia.

See the attached screen shot. Those fields are the only ones we can use in an email, but feel free to add a Feature Request specifying why you think this would be a good addition to the forum module.

    Thanks, Sue!

I actually ended up using DevDemon’s Forum Subscribe Module which has a notification email built in, and they were kind enough to add the variables I was needing, so everything is working great.

For this particular project, it is a group of truck dealers who wanted to just have the poster’s contact information in the notification email so they can just call or email them without having to go to the forum and look the information up. More of a convenience than an absolute necessity, so I probably won’t bother anyone with a feature request.

    Thanks!

Always glad to see what new things (or new to me things) that other members of our community come up with.

But I’d still make the request. 😊 If anything else comes up, please do let us know in a new thread..
