    Hi,

I recently upgraded to EE2 (2.2.1) and forum module 3.1.5 (even though it shows 3.1.4 in the control panel).

There are a couple of weird things happening with my forum.

    1) There is no pagination on the thread list pages.

    2) When I click “view new posts” it rarely shows anything even though I can see new posts in the list.

    Help? 😊 Thanks

    Hi, dirtydiva.

Are you using a stock EE template? What happens if you use one of the ones that comes with EE?

I just took a look at “blue” - It’s the same with pagination. I’ve attached the screenshot.

    Hi dirtydiva,

Be on the lookout for an email from me. I think we need to get a look at this first-hand.

Took care of the pagination issue you were having, which was reported in this bug. For anyone wondering, that fix will be included in the next release of the forum module.

Still looking into the “view new posts” issue…

When I visit the forum for the first time, “View New Posts” link gives me results of new posts. Doing the same with the login account you gave me doesn’t return any results, but there also aren’t any new topics in any of the forums when viewed from that account (all the folders are blue).

Are you still experiencing this issue even when the forums indicate that there are new posts?

    Hi there,

First of all, thank you for fixing the pagination!

For the “View New Posts” - What’s happening is that a list is being rendered but if there’s more than one page, clicking the pagination link to get to page 2 takes you to a blank results page.

I just checked and it showed 24 results on two pages. I clicked page 2 and it was an empty results page.

The problem I’m running into is that I can’t actually reproduce the issue. When I click on “View New Posts” at the top of the page, it’s only showing me one or two threads as a result (which, honestly, seems like a different problem). Is that the same thing you’re seeing? I’m not getting enough results to be able to need a second page for results.

My initial problem seemed to be that no results were showing up. I’m not exactly sure what’s going on with returning new posts. I just looked and it said there were 24 new posts at the top of the page but it only had a link to one topic. It’s really confusing.

But the problem with the pagination - I’ve attached a couple of screenshots. Not sure how else to replicate until there’s a bunch posts in several topics.

I can see what you’re talking about now. This is definitely odd behavior. I’m going to bring a developer into the loop on this to see if this might be a bug.

Did this only start happening after your upgrade?

My members reported it as happening only after the upgrade, yes.

Ok, thanks for clarifying. I’ve got a developer working on it right now. We can both see the issue you’re talking about on your site, but we’re unable to reproduce it locally which makes it rather difficult to fix. But don’t worry, we’re on the case! We’ll get this licked.

Alright, Wes was on the case this afternoon and it looks like we got you all fixed up. Took care of several bugs with this one, so for everyone else, they’ll be in the next release of the Forum module.

dirtydiva, can you confirm that everything is working as expected now?

Hey, I can’t see if the pagination is working, yet (not enough results) but the results that are returned definitely seem to be working much better. 😊

Thank you so much for helping me fix those issues. It’s very much appreciated!

Not a problem at all! Glad you helped up squash some otherwise hard-to-reproduce issues!

I’m going to close the thread up for now, but please open a related thread if you see any related issues resurface.
