    when I install my accessory addon, i tried selecting all my member groups but for some reason it only enables it for the first 19 member groups. is this a bug?

    using ee 2.1.3 build 20101220

    just figured out why… the database table “exp_accessories” has the member_groups field capped at 50 len. that’s why it’s not saving. guess i can manually change that but this definitely limits the amount of member groups be assigned the accessory.

    You might want to mention this as a Feature Request. How many member groups do you have?

    yeah, I should… they really need to increase the 50 character limit for a field that holds data delimited by pipeline. We got about 94 member groups at the moment.

    I would actually suggest posting this as a bug instead, especially considering what a seemingly easy fix it is… that is, unless the devs have a reason it’s capped at 50.

    In the meantime, does manually increasing the limit on that database field fix the problem for you?

    Increasing the char limit allowed us to assign more then 19 groups to an accessory. Just in case anyone wanted to know. 😊

    Does anyone on EE’s side know why this is set to 50? Is there a reason behind this?

    Hi VIM Interactive,

    I don’t know straight away, but experience has taught me that the Devs usually have a reason. I’ll bring it up with them and see.

    Cheers,

    Hi VIM Interactive,

    Had a discussion with the devs and they added the story to make the change needed.

    Now, when that change will be implemented, I do not know, but it will be in a future release.

    Thanks!
