    Hello guys!

We’ve checked and re-cheked the notification preferences for each channel and the e-mail address is there.
The machine is able to send PHPmail as the tools/communicate utility sends e-mail adequately.
Can you please help us pinpoint what are we doing wrong?

    Version 2.1.3 Build 20101220

    Thanks a lot,

    Nicolas E.

    Nicolas E,

To confirm you have Enable recipient list below for comment notification? set to Yes and the email address filled in for Email Address of Notification Recipient(s)?

Are you testing with an a commenter using an email address not associated with an admin account?

Have you got a link to form where we can try?

Yes John, checked and email in the field.

    Testing as a “not-logged” commenter.

    Check it out:
    http://proveedor.isa.com.co/index.php/editions/view/regimen_de_contratacion_de_isa

It’ll send the comment, but not notify the email…
    Let me know,

    Nicolas E.

    Hi, Nicolas -

Let’s see if email is working in general.  Can you go through the steps in this Troubleshooting page and let us know the results, please?

    Thank you!

    Lisa,

No error and was able to send mail.
Any thoughts… the problem is only with the comment notifications…

    Waiting for your feedback,

    Nicolas E.

    Hi, Nicolas -

Are your authors getting any comment notifications? There is a smart notification system where they’ll be notified only once of new comments until they visit the site.  I wonder if that might be in play?

    Lisa,

We’ve disabled that option and it’s still not sending the notifications.
    What else are we missing?

    Thanks in advance,

    Nicolas E.

Is the entry author the commenter?

Are you getting any notifications? Initial notifications? nothing?

And did you check junk/spam?  I do have to ask, though I suspect you have. =)

    Lisa,

Via the communicate feature the emails work perfectly, other than that… no email.
SPAM, yes! checked it… not to worry I’ve done it 😉

Have you tried commenting when totally logged out to rule out something like being the author of the entry?  They won’t get notified of their own comments… =)

And it is the author you want notified? or did you set up a notification list in the channel prefs?

    We are totally logged out.

We have configured both, author notification of the entry and recipient list notification in the channel preferences. We already have tried disabling author notification too.

Any other idea on what we are doing wrong?

    Hi Nicolas,

I just posted a comment with the link you provided above. Please feel free to delete it when you get it but I’m just wondering if you received it to the e-mail set in your preferences or not?

If not then do you have any add-ons that might be interfering with the notification process at all?

    Thanks,

    Mark
