This question may be related to a resolved thread.

    Just as the title says.
In details, I’ve created a “Draft” status and a new template identical to the entry article. The only difference are the parameters: status=“open|draft” and show_future_entries=“yes” which are added to the draft template.

I can view the rendered template when the post is Open. But I can’t see the content of the entry when the status is “Draft”.

The URL of my templates look like this: http://website.com/channel_url/article/title/
    Expression Engine version: 2.2

    yiannis,

To confirm you have your regular template at a URL like this?

    http://www.website.com/template_group/template/url_title

And for your Live Look template you have it living in a second template?

    http://www.website.com/template_group/live_look_template/url_title

Can you try adding the parameter dynamic=“no” to the Channel Entries tag of the Live Look template

    Hi Yiannis,

Does it work if you set the status param to “open|Draft” (note the capital D). I’m not sure about this, but I believe the status param is case-sensitive for custom statuses.

    Wouter,

Statuses are not case sensitive. Tested that before my reply although it was worth mentioning thanks 😊

Ugh… I keep forgetting we’re on EE2+ now. They are case sensitive in a 1.x version I’ve got running. Sorry if I confused you Yiannis.

    Exactly.

    Added, dynamic=“no”. No progress.

Still, if an article has the “Open” status it can be viewed via Live Look. If it has the “Draft” status I can’t see the content.

Just to switch it up, what happens when add status=‘not closed’?

  • #8 / Jul 05, 2011 5:58am

‘not closed’ didn’t work also. Thanks, anyway, Wouter.

    Hi Yiannis,

Is this on a publicly-accessible server? Be on the lookout for an email from me.

The problem was related to an unclosed channel entries tag that you had in your breadcrumbs div. You’ll notice that ExpressionEngine provides a warning for this right below the textarea on the Template Edit screen, so keep your eyes open for that. Once I closed that open tag and made sure the channel entries tags for the title and body of the page had the parameter status=“not closed”, everything worked just fine! I made the change in your solar-news template group, so if this is happening in multiple templates, please make sure you fix those templates as well.

Give it a try and let me know if you’re still having any difficulty.

    That’s fantastic!
I saw the warning once or twice but I couldn’t find the error. Stupid me.

    Thank you so much Kevin.
