umlauts (äöü) breaks entry on local EE installation

Hello,

i’ve just found a very strange bug: I’m running a local EE Installation. All modules, except for the channel module, are uninstalled. There are also no plugins installed.
If i write a new entry and add an „Umlaut“ (ä, ö or ü) in one of my custom fields and click on submit the whole field is empty. If there is no Umlaut, all works fine.

It’s a very annoying bug – because my local installation is useless.

I’m runnig OS X 10.6.7 and a fresh installation of MAMP 1.9.6
EE Version is the latest (v2.2.0 Build: 20110622)

Any help on-hand?

Found a solution: If i change my PHP Setting in MAMP from PHP 5.3.5 to PHP 5.2.17 it all works fine!
