    Hello, a few questions really..

1.) Does EE include a news system, for example posting daily new threads. Does this system allow archiving, exploring old news items, RSS feeds etc?

2.) What is the beginner tutorial support/experience like? Are you left in the deep end to learn or is there enough of a noob guide to get you started?

3.) Is the forum module 100% integrated into the user management system? Does the forum module support custom profiles or at least hooking data into the profile?

4.) Widget support, (Example: Wordpress Sidebar). Does it exist?

I am possibly considering creating an E Gaming / Tournament / League set-up using EE. Is there any pitfalls or suggestions that anyone wants to suggest?

    Thanks in advance..

Hi, K0rah - welcome to our community.

    1.  Absolutely; all of those features are available out of the box and can even be seen in our Agile Records theme.

    2.  There is definitely a learning curve; for some it is easy, for others it’s very difficult.  Check out our Community Page for some great learning resources.  the Agile Records theme also has many inline comments to help you become familiar with how EE works.

    3.  Yes, which is why it requires the Member Module be installed.  Have a look at my profile for instance.

    4.  We don’t have a widget system, but you can build templates that output the data you want and embed them (similar to includes) wherever you need.  EE leaves the site design, data ,and setup entirely up to you.

    5.  Yes, the wiki module is included with EE non-commercial and commercial.

I don’t have particular recommendations on building a tournament site, but others in our community have done so and may pop in and help out.

    Does that help?
