Since upgrading to EE 2.2 with the latest MSM I have notice that none of the links in the CP to the front of the site are working.  The are all in the format “http://example.com/?URL=http://example.com/”.

Is this a setting issue or should I enter a bug report?

    Joe,

That is the correct URL. Typically in the situation where it is not working it is due to something in the hosting. Do you have a .htaccess in place? Are you rewriting the URLs? Is path_info available?

    Hi Marcus,

Thanks for the follow-up!  Yes, I have an .htaccess in place (a fairly complex one) and it has been running without problems or changes for at least several months.  In fact, the core rewrites have not change for over a year.  That is not to say it isn’t the problem, it just isn’t one of the variables that changed.  The difficulty started when I upgraded my EE+MSM installation to the latest 2.2.0 from 2.1.4 beta (I skipped over 2.1.5 beta).

Deleting the contents of the .htaccess file had no effect on the issue.  Neither did setting “RewriteEngine off”.

My sites are hosted on EngineHosting so I suspect the problem would be more widespread if it were purely a hosting issue.  That being said, PATH_INFO did NOT appear as one of the supported server variables in phpinfo.

So I now have a fresh install to compare with my upgraded one.  As you already know, external links inside the CP of the fresh install work just fine.  I am trying to figure out the difference and will report back when I find it.

The problem was that I failed to replace the index.php file during the upgrade.  Please close this thread at your leisure.
