    Hi,

I have a site set up in EE but want to add a blog section to it.

I have installed the Weblog module and created a new template group but can’t seem to get a proper blog set up.

I have been told to looking the EE Documentation but I can’t see where this tells you how to set up a blog section.

    Thanks,
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew

You need to do a few things to set up a blog…

    1. Create a new Weblog named ‘blog’
    2. Create a new Custom Field Group called ‘blog’
    3. Add the necessary fields to the above group; Article, Summary, etc as needed
    4. Under Admin > Weblog Administration > Weblog Management > Edit Groups (of the new weblog which you named ‘blog’). Assign the ‘blog’ Field Group and the Default Status Group (if applicable), click Update.

Now in your template, add the necessary Weblog Entries tag + Custom field names to render your blog article content as needed.

Here’s more info on the Weblog Entries tag…

    Does that make sense?
