I recently used the PLESK migration from Media Temple to move a site with Multi-site manager from one server to another - the database transferred, and is identical - the location of everything from one server to the other is identical - however the database information is completely blank in the rendered site. The site is only showing static information.

I contacted MT, and have gone through the server with them, and they are point at EE, saying it is out of their scope of support (which is understandable).

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

The “system” folder is outside of the root directory.

I’m not getting a single php error - just the dynamic information is missing.

    Hi Tony,

Are you able to log into your CP and view/edit/publish content as before? Does everything in the CP work as intended?

    Cheers

Tony - Did you ever find a solution to this issue?

This issue appeared twice when migrating from Plesk 3.5 to a Plesk 4.0 environment. The only way I was able to get the sites to come back up was to update Expression Engine. I think both of the sites that I was having the error occurance (it’s been a while) were version 1.6.3. I upgraded the version of EE and everything seemed to work just fine.

In some cases I wasn’t able to get to Version 2.0 because of some dependent plugins, but the sites came back to life after the update from EE version 1.6.3 (? I’m pretty sure) to 1.6.8 and above.

Thanks Tony. We just finished upgrading an EE site. Once we did everything worked (outside of upgrading and fixing some extensions). Had the same issue upgrading from a Media Temple 3.5 to DV4 server.

    Hey Jon,

I’m glad the update got you sorted!

Is there anything else I can assist you with?

    Cheers,
