    EE Version 2.1.3
    Build 20101220

Not sure what to make of this one:  On my client’s computer, when the status of an entry is set to closed, the entry will show as closed in the CP, but will still be active on the website.  When I login from my computer, the CP shows the entry as open (meanwhile it’s still showing as closed on the client’s computer).  Both of our member accounts are SuperAdmin.  When I set status to closed on my computer, the change takes effect.  Status is reflected as closed in the CP and the entry is removed from the front end.

We have tried resetting browsers and using different browsers on the client’s machine, but the issue persists and I am perplexed.  Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Will

    Hi Will,

Just to cover it but do you have a status parameter in your Channel Entries tag?

When you say reset browser do you mean clear all caches etc?

If you reverse the the process doe sit work for you? Say if you set the status of an entry does it work on front-end and what does you client see when he refreshes the page?

Thanks, John.  Never a bad idea to cover the basics.  No status parameter in the Channel Entries tag and the channel itself isn’t using any custom statuses. Yes, by browser reset, I mean clear cookies, caches, history, etc.  Yes, if I set the status of an entry, it works for me and my client also sees the change when she refreshes the page on the front end.

The strangest thing is that when she set the entries to closed on her computer, they showed as closed in the CP (both in Firefox and Safari), but still showed up on the front end.  When I went to look at them simultaneously on my machine, they still showed as open in the CP.  I haven’t looked at the db through PHPMyAdmin yet, but is it possible that her browsers are somehow changing the PHP session info, but not the database entry?  Just a shot in the dark.

    Look forward to your thoughts.

    Hi Will,

This is certainly odd. What I would recommend is to create a new Super Admin account for you client and ask her to login using that one and see then if the same issue persists. Also, are you in the position to use her premises or location to log into your own account? Is she physically located near to you?

    Cheers

    Greg

Thanks, Greg.  I have created a new Super Admin for her to use.  Unfortunately we’re in different parts of the country, so I haven’t been able to do any on the ground troubleshooting.

I’ll post when I get the results of the new admin account.

You can go ahead and close this thread, we’ve discovered the issue.

Thanks for your time, John and Greg.
