    Hi Guys,

We are in the process of planning a project for a potential client. Obviously EE is going to be the CMS for us. One aspect that we are scoping out is a product catalogue with various product color options. This includes having several images layered over the top of each other so you can view what color tie goes with what color shirt. This has been quite easily achieved through jQuery where we have transparent png’s overlaying a base image.

The tricky part now is that we want to be able to store what selection the user has made and parse that info to various functionality i.e send to a friend, print page, bookmarks, add to Facebook.

Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to approach this?

Here is an example of the sort of thing we are trying to do:

With the info contained in the URL I’d probably use PHP or javascript to grab those variables and turn them into something you can use in your templates with EE tags.

By the way, love how the colours are put together dynamically, super slick. 😊
