    Hi all,

I am building an international site, relying heavily on publish layouts.
Everything went wel, untill just now, when fields started overlapping the sidebar, making the fields there unreachable. see the attached screenshot.

This happens on all screen resolutions, the bigger the resolution, the worse.

Would this be IE per chance ? also it would appear that the toolbar is shown ( can see elements behind screen shot) what happens when you apply and hide toolbar ?

I made the layout in ff4, and saved it to a member group. I checked the layout in safari, and the overlapping is there too.
see the screenshots for what happens in safari

    Hey ome_jelle—

Did this behavior just start happening all of the sudden, or did you change something before the behavior started?

Forgive the simplicity here, but it looks to me like the browser window is simply too narrow. What happens when you expand the browser window to a greater width?

It started all off a sudden. I was creating various fieldgroups for various member groups (120+ fields, 30+ membergroups) ans all of a sudden it started giving me these wide inputs.

and for the window-size: i resized it to fit the maximum allowed width for uploads on the forums here 😉

the problem is even bigger on a bigger resolution

i am more than happy to provide a login so you can see the behaviour for yourself.

We are running build 20101220. We hope to deliver the website this week to the client, and this is the last major job we have to do (publish layouts) so you can immagine we are in a bit of a pickle…

    found a work around!
first i drag the field onto the “stage”.
next 1 drag the field from the stage upon the toolbar.
it snaps back within the box on the stage at the right size.

Still… this means a lot of extra work, and shouldn’t have to.
Maybe this has something to do with this: http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/173014/
