    Hi
When I click an entries View link I get the rewrite URL:
    http://www.mydomain.com/index.php?URL=http://www.mydomain.com/index.php?/1/article/12

But it does not resolve - looks like there is an attempt to do this as the browser constantly refreshes in an infinate loop.

Any ideas what may be causing this?

I am using a .htaccess rewrite rule to remove the index.php but I have removed this in the .htaccess file to test and it didn’t make any difference.

Running on LAMP - but have tried Force URL query strings - no difference.

    Running EE 2.1.3
    Extensions:
    Accessible Captcha
    CP Analytics Settings
Flickr (Which I just installed and is suffering the same problem - can’t get this to work because the URL appear to be rewritten in a loop - same as View entry issue above.)
    Libraree
    Matrix
    Playa
    SafeCracker

This might not solve your infinite redirection issues, but the “1” in “/1/article/12” looks a little suspicious, is your template group called 1 ?
If not, you can change the destination template group in the channel preferences, Path Settings, then Channel URL.

BTW, If you remove the index.php using a .htaccess file, you have to remove it as well from your EE General Configuration, and from each channel’s settings.

    I hope this helps a bit…

PS, EllisLab, could the entry url title be used for the View Entry and Live Look links, instead of the entry id? Even though we can turn on strict urls, this still causes duplicate urls…

Thanks Johan, the 1/ is not a problem - that set of templates is named one - unusual and not best practice for SEO but in this particular case it works.

I had already ensured the channels went to the correct url without index.php but thanks for the reminder about the General config Name of your site’s index page field - I had forgotten that one and have removed the index.php and now the View entries resolves correctly.

    Thank you.

So thats not the problem that was causing the Flickr Extension not to work - back to the drawing board on that part.

    Hi Simon,

Can you rename the htaccess file to be sure please.

When I click an entries View link I get the rewrite URL:

So you have a live look template set up?
Can you create a blank one and just add the basic tags and link to that in your Channel Prefs

    Hey Simon!

Go ahead and rename .htaccess back.  Double check that this is working for you and let us know; I don’t want to prematurely close this, but I think that you’ve got the issue sorted. Just want to make sure. =)

    Thanks!
