I’ve created a new custom status called “Preview” in my default status group that’s used to preview an article before it’s live on the site.
Is there an easy way to set this to be the default status in the options tab of a new entry form instead of “Open”?

Hi.
Go to Admin > Channel Administration > Channels , click on Edit Preferences for the channel you want to change the default status, in the Channel Preferences click on Administrative Preferences and change the status in Default Status (the dropdown should list all the statuses avalaible for the channel):
