I’ve tried to upgrade from 2.1.1 to 2.1.3 but the version number hasn’t changed in the control panel footer, I followed the instructions in the docs about doing it, and have done so twice, yet nothing seems to have changed, I never got a “some files have changed” message after doing it either, any idea why this might be? Like I’ve said I’ve tried twice so it seems a bit strange.

Is there any other way to see what version i’m running other looking at what’s in the cp footer.

    Hi, James.

Let’s first of all have you check and make sure your config.php file is writeable.

Also, if you look in your footer, you’ll see a build number in there. What does it say?

You’ll only get the files have been changed when your index.php file is changed. Did you need to edit that to point to the right system folder?

    Hi Sue,

config.php is writeable, i’ve replaced the index.php which is pointing to the right system folder and the footer says 2.1.1, build 20110411.
The index.php is in the same folder as the system folder and is pointing to ./system, that’s right, right?

    The installer does this:

    ALTER TABLE exp_members ADD show_sidebar char(1) NOT NULL default 'y' AFTER quick_tabs

If you look at your exp_members table, is there such a field? If there is, you’re OK and just change the value of 211 to 213 in your config.php.

Inside of EE or via PHPMyAdmin you can do a DESC exp_members and see this info.

    Make sense?

    Thanks Sue,

I do indeed have the show_sidebar column, I’ve changed my config file to 213 but the build still says 20110411 in the control panel footer. Any ideas why that could be?

    That’s the right build number - 2011 04 11 April 11, 2011. 😊 Make sense?

Ha! Right I get it, I was thinking that number related to the 2.1.3, not the date!

    Thanks!
