    Hi,

My sign up form used to work, but now the captcha is throwing up trouble. The captcha image shows up, but it does not accept the correct answer. This is the error message:

The form you submitted contained the following errors

      * You did not submit the word exactly as it appears in the image

This form is part of the User module.

I’m on EE1.7.1, Engine Hosting. I’ve toggled TrueType on and off, and tried other captchas, such as Accessible Captcha, but they throw up the same error.

Have you had someone else try it from a completely different location and network?
I say this because, for instance, AOL users cannot sign up on my forum…I have to do it manually…due to issues on their end.

    Xiao Ling,

Can you share a link to your sign-up form so we can test?

Can you also share your template code for the signup form.

Is the form in an embed?

    Thanks for the quick replies!

handyman, you are spot on, it does’t work on my ISP (Singapore Starhub), but works on others. So is there no way to work around it?

    Here’s the link: http://www.sbasg.sg/en/index.php/site/register/

The code is here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6556031/sba_register.txt (cos it exceeds the reply character limit)

The form is not in an embed.

    Cheers

I don’t think there is a workaround….because it is ISP cache issues, etc.

Here is how I work around it. I modified my registration page to mention the problem and have them email me with a username and pw if it does not take.
I’d say maybe one our of fifty or one out of 100 who ends up doing so…...

Probably the Signapore Government checking out (that you don’t curse) through their routers!

Ah, I guess this is out of my hands now.
Now, to explain to my client…

    Thanks for the assist, Craig.

Xiao Ling. sorry you’re running into issues, but if it is ISP related, the workaround Craig mentioned is what you’ll need to use.

Feel free to start a new thread if you have any more questions.
