    Hi,

I have several sites under MSM and EE 1.6.8. I have added some custom profile fields for users to fill in information, some of which is site specific.

For instance, on the golf site I have added “Handicap” as a custom profile field. I want this to be a required field. However, if I set it to be required, members on other sites where handicap is not relevant (and not shown) cannot edit their member information, since the form fails when the handicap field is not filled in.

    What to do?

That’s pretty much the bad thing about sharing a single membership table between sites. Unfortunately I don’t see a workaround other than to not make it required. You might be able to do some sort of javascript to require the field, but that would be more of HowTo or CodeShare Corner issue.
