    Hi guys,

    This seems to be a popular topic but getting the following error after a clean install:

    Your system folder path does not appear to be set correctly. Please open the following file and correct this: index.php

    I originally had renamed the system folder when I first installed but after getting the above error, I cleaned down the site and re-installed EE without changing the system folder name but still got the error.

    I can access the control panel fine but when I try to access the main index page I get the error.

    I have spent a few hours reading through the threads but can’t get it to work. I have installed EE before for other sites and never seen this issue.

    Here is some additional info that might help

    Main index file has -

    $system_path = './system';

    index file under system has -

    $system_path = "";

    Config file - $config[‘cp_url’] = ‘http://www.nameofsite.com/system/index.php’;

    The main index.php file, system, images and themes folders all sit within a /wwwroot root folder on the main server.

    Any help appreciated on next steps would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Aidan

    Hi guys,

    Quick update, I think I have solved the issue by following Michael’s instructions in this thread
    http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/174645/

    Just incase anyone else is having a similar issue, I completed the following steps

    - Ran the serverpath.php file, grabbed the path
    - Formatted it correctly i.e. / instead of \
    - Added to the main index.php file and the index.php file in your “system” folder

    Seems to have worked for me, I’ll update once I know its 100% resolved

    Tks

    Hi, aidan1234. What kind of server are you working with?
